The Kate Walsh Official Fan Club

Kate Walsh was born in sunny San Jose, California on October 13, 1967. She spent her early years in San Jose before moving to Tucson, where she attended the University of Arizona. After studying at the renowned Piven Theatre Workshop in Chicago, Kate starred in staged productions, including Born Guilty and Troilus and Cressida, at the Chicago Shakespeare Repertory. Following her time in Chicago, she moved again, this time to New York City, where she joined the Burn Manhattan comedy troupe.

She soon began landing regular roles on TV programs, most notably The Drew Carey Show, where she portrayed Niki Fifer, Drew's girlfriend and a woman struggling with weight issues. Earlier this year, she was seen as Kendall Judd, the feisty, estranged wife of Tim Daly's Harlan Judd, on an episode of the now-defunct, critically-acclaimed series, Eyes. She can currently be seen portraying Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the even feistier, but not quite equally estranged, wife of neurosurgeon, Derek Shepherd, opposite Patrick Dempsey on ABC's hit show, Grey's Anatomy.

Because some people might not be Addison fans but happen to like or love Kate Walsh. I've found that that's the case on the other message board I frequent.

No, I get what you're saying, steph. My intention was to create a space for all people who love KW to share their thoughts and discuss her work regardless of whether or not they like/love/hate Addison. Of course, I'd prefer that everyone love Addie, like I do, but it's by no means a requirement. Anyway, welcome to the club!

Well, this is her fan club so we can talk about how awesome she is all the live-long day if we wanna! I initially thought she looked too old for Patrick Dempsey when I saw her in the season finale, but after getting a good look at her in the season premiere, I thought she was gorgeous and that they'd make one good-looking pair!

I thought she looked so pretty at the end of Thanks For The Memories when she was sitting in the rain after Derek had stood her up. She was a lot more natural looking there and it was a really cute scene. I also loved it in this weeks episode when Dorie (the lady pregnant with quins) was like - "Everyone must hate you!" And the simultaniously say "Ahh, you have no idea!" That was so cute!

Yes! That was my hands-down favorite part of "Much Too Much!" I got the impression that that wasn't the first time they'd said that in unison. They probably got hated on all the time back in New York.

And I agree that she looked absolutely beautiful with her makeup toned down in the trailer scene of "Thanks for the Memories." Her subtle expressions always convey so much meaning. I loved when she got teary after she told Derek she'd have to "special order a thicker skin" if he was going to keep on hurting her. She plays the role to perfection, IMO.

Yeah definitely - you can tell how upset she was when he stood her up. And she seems really concerned with things not being alright between her and Derek - however they never get to discuss it because their pagers always go off! I can't wait till next week - there should be a lot of Kate!
